This little medieval village faces its famous counterpart, Le Castellet and offers a large view over the Mediterranean and equally famous vine yards of Bandol. La Cadiere is a typical charming provence village with flowered streets full of history and stories. La Cadiere has managed to keep its medieval gates surrounding the village center. Next to the city hall is the St John Gate dated 16th century and a short walk away is the St Andrew church built again in the 16th century over the ruins of a 12th century existing chapel. In there, you will find the oldest bell of the entire Var region dated 1458. Once onsite you will understand why this village inspired many famous painters and artists falling in love with these provence typical landscapes and atmosphere. Although resisting massive tourism, this village is not far away from Bandol and St Cyr sur Mer splendid beach resorts. |
